Staffordshire Mortgages

Lambeth Mortgages

The Lambeth Building Society was a mutual organisation based in London and was founded in February 1852 and was known as The Number Three Borough of Lambeth Permanent Benefit Building Society. After 154 successful years providing a range of financial services the Lambeth Building Society merged with the Portman Building Society in 2006. At the time of the merger the Lambert Building Society was the 20th largest building society in the UK with assets of £1 billion. The Portman Building Society was one of the largest mutual building societies and mortgage lenders in the UK, providing high customer service for savings, investments and mortgage banking. The Portman Building Society enhanced their potential customer base by delivering financial services beyond traditional high street branches in providing services via the Internet and mobile units. In August 2007 Portman merged with the Nationwide Building Society becoming the largest building society in the UK.
